POINTY DEL RAY'S

I was amused by this article in which journo does DIY stilleto nails, chronicling the latest trend in shape and (ridiculous) length, inspired by femme fatale Lana Del Ray.

Wouldn't be the first time a woman let efficiency and practicality and good 'ol common sense get in the way of looking lovely...

Ps... love the cream blue polish.

Read for yourself.

STRICTLY LACQUER

A La Mode
                                                                 Quintessential

I kind of love Jin Soon Choi. Seems she's a purist after my own heart.

In telling of the inspiration of her new range, she very openly poo-poo'ed nail art and gel systems. Her reason for the classic colours? High fashion.

"High fashion doesn't do glitter. But it is all about colour - beautiful colour - and high gloss without shimmer."

2 separate collections - Quintessential are the colours that 'will never die' and 'will always be in', and A La Mode are the seasonal offerings.

This first collection of A La Mode were named by Choi's fav runway girls - Karlie Kloss, Coco Rocha, Jamie Bochert, Caroline Trentini, Guinevere Van Seenus and Hyoni Kang.

With 25 years in the biz with clients such as Italian Vogue and Prabal Gurung (and the thoroughbreds mentioned above...), seems Choi has absolutely no choice but to create high fashion.

Gosh.

I'm only just recovering from the Thakoon collection, now NARS hits us with the Andy Warhol collection.

In commemoration of the 25th anniversary of Warhol's passing, NARS came up with 8 colours signalling some of the most iconic works of the artist's prolific career.

Available in Australia from Mecca Cosmetica.
